Our PTSO is putting on a Book Fair March 9th-12th!

Spring Conferences are approaching on March 11th and 12th. Teachers will only be reaching out to families of students who may benefit from extra academic support at this time. Conferences will be scheduled based on individual student needs. If you are contacted, it is simply to ensure we are working together to support your child’s success.
The schedule will be as follows:
March 11th Evening Conferences 4pm-8pm. By appointment only. (Yes, there's school.)
March 12th Conferences 8am-11am and 12pm-4pm is by appointment only. 5pm-8pm is drop-ins only, open to all.
March 13th No school.
Your student's teacher will be reaching out through ParentSquare to schedule conferences. If you have not accessed ParentSquare yet, it's easy to start! Go to parentsquare.com and create an account using the same email address we have on file for you in PowerSchool. It will prompt you to confirm your student and BAM, you're in!
If you have any questions, please call us at the office at 360-793-9850 and we'd be happy to help!

Sultan Middle School is now accepting applications for the AVID Elective class for the 2026-2027 school year. Students who are in 6th or 7th grade can apply for the AVID Elective 7 or 8. Students who already are in AVID 7 this year do not need to apply as they are automatically placed in AVID 8.
The AVID Elective Class focuses on building student agency, practicing WICOR skills for use in rigorous academic courses, and providing opportunity knowledge around college and career. With the support of the AVID Teacher and Tutor, students practice presentation skills, work in small groups, build organizational skills, research college and careers, and typically go on a college visit. Students need to complete a daily planner, using a binder to be organized, pass all their classes with a 2.0 GPA, attend school every day on time ready to learn, and avoid discipline consequences for poor choices. It is the goal of the AVID Elective to prepare students in the academic middle for rigor in high school and beyond, preparing all students for success in college, career, and life.
To apply for the AVID Elective, students need to complete the AVID Elective application. To start the process, parents can use the link below and your student will be given an application to complete. Please return applications to Mr. Riehle in Room 206 or drop at the SMS Office.
The deadline for applications for the 2026-2027 school year is February 28, 2026.

Soup Supper and Winter Concert was a success last night. A huge congratulations to all our music students for putting on a fantastic show. Sixth, seventh, and eighth grade Band and Choirs performed fun holiday tunes and Sultan Music Parents Association provided a delicious soup supper with slices of pie. The Pie Auction was also a success raising funds for our music students.
